災難來臨

災難片向來是電影的一個重要類型,災難片可以拍出存亡危急時的人性善惡,反思人類盲目追求科技的偏差,以及人類相對於自然的渺小脆弱,拿到好萊塢去,更是塑造超級英雄,燒錢大玩特效的最佳題材。

近年來全球各地天災頻仍,不只發生的頻率越來越高,造成的人命財產損失也越來越大,有80年來第一次,有百年來最大,有超越歷史紀錄,彷彿競賽般,不斷刷新紀錄。而處在資訊幾乎同步的現時世界,人們不斷受到災難實況的衝擊,人心越發浮動,對未來的不安全感越發升高,真不知道一旦超越臨界點時,會是怎樣的浩劫。

過去看災難片時,總覺得比較像科幻片,導演天馬行空,竭盡所能來嚇唬觀眾。近來再回想那些災難片情節,卻覺得越來越寫實,有的簡直像紀錄片。

或許,這麼多的災難都是造物主的警訊,人類已經面臨到非得改變的關鍵時刻,對於科技的追求與倚賴,早就偏離了正軌,為了更多、更快、更強,不斷消耗有限的資源,破壞棲身的環境。聖經中所多瑪和蛾摩拉遭天火焚毀的故事,是一頁真實的歷史,若人類再不節制物慾、謙卑反省,毀滅性的天火一定迅速來臨。

1972年出品的一部美國電影海神號(The Poseidon Adventure),是一部海難片,和鐵達尼號一樣,源於人們對於科技的自滿自恃,以及對大自然的傲慢輕忽,最後付出幾百條人命的代價。這部片子在2005年重拍一次,結果是觀眾駡聲不絕

1972年的這部雖然得過不少獎,但是我看過後並沒有留下什麼深刻印象,惟一記得是那首超好聽的主題曲,我超喜歡主唱Maureen McGovern的聲音。
